Autumn! Here and Gone
Welcome again, dear readers! It's been officially fall for a little while, but just recently the trees started turning around here. And it seems one day they're beautifully colorful and then - in a flash - they're gone. Never to be seen until next year. But, I did get some pictures of trees around us! Yes, you've probably seen trees like this before...but do you really think, and I mean THINK about their beauty?
Anyway, here are the pictures.
Anyway, here are the pictures.
This is one of the trees on our property. (you probably guessed that!)
Here is another one. The leaves are all gone now!
This is the view from our backyard. Looks like something out of a story, doesn't it? Gray sky, falling leaves, cold wind, you know, a good start to a story.
"Breathlessly, she ran through the bushes, dodging the trees and fallen logs. She tightly gripped the letter in her numb hands. Although she was tired, she knew that there wasn't a moment to lose, and she ran as fast as possible making zig zags in case they saw her. Gasping for air, Audrey finally found the log cabin she was looking for, and pounding mercilessly on the door, she waited for an answer. Every second was precious..."
(excerpt from the short story "Haze Across the Border" by Amara--that's me!)
See? It's the perfect setting for a story. :) In fact, this picture inspired me to write "Haze Across the Border" in the first place!
This a close up of a leaf. Can you guess what kind?
It's a maple.
Again, more trees.
See that orange thing on the dead flower? It's a bug. I don't know what kind, though.
An orange kind!
And, while I was trying to take pictures, my little sister was petting the neighbor's cat that came to visit.
Do you like writing short stories, too? I love doing it, and have several in the works, as well as a long, book-sized one I'm in the middle of, and too many ideas for other ones!
Thanks for wading through yet another of my posts! ;)

Proof We Were Extras in Beyond the Mask
Our DVD for Beyond the Mask arrived in the mail a few weeks ago, and we immediately watched it. We were very careful to pause at the places our family was extras, because, of course, we'd want to see ourselves in a "real movie!"
So the other day, I stopped the movie and took screen captures of the scenes we're in...
This red arrow indicates that the person being pointed at is Aidan.
The red arrows here are where I am in the movie the first time. :)
And, because I was just so thrilled that I got to be behind the lead charater, William Reynolds, here is another one of me in that same scene.
This is me later in the movie. I'm very blurry, but I recognized my mob cap and bun right away.
That person in the background is my dad. As you'll see, he did get in several scenes.
In this picture, there are three red arrows. (like you needed me to tell you that!)
The first one (from left to right) is Aidan, the second one Jordan, and the third one is my dad.
This one is blurry too, but that is Aidan.
The red arrow pointing at the black hat, is Jordan.
All of these scenes are after Will arrives in America.
There was one scene that my dad was cut out of, and another one where my mom was cut out. That was very disapointing, but our names did get in the credits! Some even more than once.
I'll let you find our names -- "What if I don't know them?" you ask? Ah, the information you need is in front of your eyes. I'll leave it to you to find our names and where they are in the credits--a little treasure hunt! :)
Okay, I HAVE to do a little innocent advertising.
Haven't seen Beyond the Mask? Now's your chance! You can order Beyond the Mask online at, www.beyondthemaskmovie.com along with all the fan products listed in more detail in my previous post. In fact, it might still be in Walmart.
I'm done with my advertising...for now.

Guess What?
Big news! (at least, for me) I just got my hair cut! Yes, that's right. A haircut.
And you're thinking "So? Amara, that's not real exciting." You're right. A regular trim isn't very exciting.
But you see, for me, this is different. I cut off over half of my hair, meaning it is now just below my shoulder (in the front, because the front is longer than the back just a little).
And now you're thinking "Why did you do that?"
The short answer is easy... I wanted it shorter! :)
The long answer is I wanted it shorter, because it got in my way a lot, it took me forever to fix every morning, and, I was in need of a change. Although I did kinda like my long hair, I suddenly decided to change it up, and cut it shorter.
Do I like it? No, I don't. I love it!!!
Having shorter hair doesn't give me so many headaches! You see, because my hair was so long, thick, and heavy, it did give me headaches.
So, do you want to see some pictures? If you do (or don't) here they are:
We ponytailed it before our hairdresser cut it off.
Nope, I wasn't nervous, because I knew what I wanted. EVEN THOUGH SHE'S CUTTING OFF A LOT OF MY HAIR!!!
I could literaly feel my head get lighter once she finished!
There it is! Almost 13 inches long.
And here's how it looked when she finished!
Yes, I really do love it. It's so easy to take care of!
And, just because my hair is short, and I won't be able to do most of the styles in my previous post, doesn't mean I still can't do some fun ones! Like the one below:
It's a lace fishtail tieback. Fun!
What am I going to do with my long ponytail? Well, to be honest, I'm not sure yet. I might donate it, I might sell it, I don't know. Yet.
There you go! "The New Amara." :)

Amara Jachim

Hairstyle Gallery ~ Number 1
Welcome to my hairstyle gallery! Or at least, the hairstyle gallery I have so far. Styling my hair is my "hobby" you could say, among a few other things. I've been growing my hair out for a long time... about 4 years. With hair this thick and heavy, I like coming up with hairstyles to keep the hair off my neck - and pretty ones to boot!
Some of these hairstyles are harder than others, but I enjoy a challenge.
These are (some of) the styles I've done so far:

"LONG, LONG AGO...
IN A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY..."
If you're wondering how long my hair is right now...
Just a litte below my waist.
Have you seen "Beyond the Mask"? Well, I tried to duplicate one of Charlotte's hairstyles (Charlotte is the heroine of the movie) three different times. I hope to duplicate more soon! ;)
First attempt.
Second attempt.
And the third attempt.
This is the original picture of that hairstyle.
You can't really see the back of it, though. But basically, it's a bunch of pincurls, or loops, pinned onto the center back of her head.
I hope you enjoyed these hairstyles! I definately enjoy creating them. :)
In Christ,
Amara
